Aria Li is a filmmaker and creative professional from Shenzhen, China. She graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2024 with a BFA in Film & Television Production. During her time at USC, she had the opportunity to intern with Janet Yang, the current president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which gave her valuable insight into the industry.

Currently, Aria works as a creative partner at a public company in China, where she helps develop character and storyline concepts for merchandise. This role allows her to combine her creative background with her interest in commercial design.

Alongside her professional work, Aria is developing several personal projects. She is working on a feature film about a Chinese grandmother’s end-of-life pilgrimage and a VR project that explores her personal experiences with bipolar disorder. She remains open to new collaborations and enjoys connecting with other creatives.

Aria’s short film, Virtual Love, has been fortunate to receive recognition at several festivals, including the Cannes Short Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, and Prism Film Fest. Through her work, she aims to explore themes of Chinese culture and mental health, using personal stories to foster understanding and connection across cultures.

Colleagues often describe Aria as a cheerful and empathetic collaborator, with a creative approach to problem-solving and storytelling.
